Spring in Japan means Sakura ( Cherry blossoms) , millions and millions of them. Everyone is focused on seeing the best trees, appreciating the beauty and planning parties around flower viewing.
Hanami (is the name for flower viewing parties and is a Japanese traditional custom. From the end of March to early May, they bloom all over Japan.
The weather bureau forecasts their development and everyone watches carefully so they don’t miss the the peak time..
Around Nasu there are so many opportunities to see the trees…
My favorites are around the factory, Nogi shrine and one of the smaller temples. Otawara castle and Otawara shrine are both full of blossoms and walking along the Poppo Dori is amazing in spring…
