Otawara Street sculpture

Otawara, the town I live in is a rural community in Tochigi prefecture. Around 80,000 people live in the area, its a spread out community with many farms and local growers. About 50% of the area would be rice fields and there is some industry here, in fact the reason I live here is that my company has a manufacturing plant here.

For some reason it has an abundance of street sculpture. (Aside from the religious statues at shrines and temples, which are found everywhere in Japan.) Throughout the Otawara area streets, parks and other public areas there are many different sculptures by local and overseas artists. It makes my walking or cycling around town interesting..
